Production ready 2010 Kia YN spied in Spain, this time with slightly less camouflage!
The long-awaited mini-MPV from Kia, codenamed YN, is due for release at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Until now, the YN has always been spotted in deep camo, which prevented us to see the styling of its front and rear fascias, but this time, it was caught while wearing slightly less camouflage.
Autoblog.es reader Tony picked up a few shots of YN while on visit in Spain. He caught a barely disguised production Kia YN with almost no camo on it’s rear. This is for the first time, that the rear has been exposed to the public and from what we can see, the rear looks sporty and a bit “Audi-sh”.
Judging by the looks of the lightly camouflaged prototype caught by a spy photographer, the production YN will stay very true to the concept car that Kia debut at Geneva auto show earlier this year. [Photosource: es.autoblog ]

El Salón del Automóvil de Frankfurt ya calienta motores, y con él, los fotógrafos de las principales casas. Kia, al igual que otros fabricantes, se ha dejado caer por Barcelona para hacer el book oficial del nuevo Cee'd Plus (alias No 3) que se convertirá en enemigo jurado de superventas como el Opel Meriva, a su vez, otra de las grandes novedades en Frankfurt. Como buen Kia, intentará ofrecer una de las relaciones calidad-precio más ventajosas del mercado, pero haciendo uso de ese estilo ausente hasta hace poco en los modelos de la marca.
Las fotos, cortesía de Toni (mil gracias), son de una calidad notable, y no sólo por la proximidad al prototipo, sino porque además nos permiten ojear por primera vez el diseño de una zaga que se muestra idéntica a la del prototipo. Otro detalle confirmado por las imágenes, es la integración de un generoso techo panorámico (opcional) que alcanza hasta el pilar B.

Siendo un derivado técnico del Hyundai i20 la lista de motorizaciones debería resultarnos bastante familiar, aunque es posible que presente novedades. Saldremos de dudas el día 15 de septiembre, tan pronto como se abran las puertas de la feria de Frankfurt.

Kia has released some information and details about the 2010 Kia Sorento in advance of the vehicle’s official debut. The Korean carmaker confirmed that the all-new Sorento crossover will make its official European premiere at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September, where it will be put on display alongside facelifted cee’d hatchback and production YN mini-MPV.
Kia’s Official press conference for European press and media is scheduled for September 15th (13:00 Central European Time).
New Kia Sorento
In comparison to the previous model, the 2010 Sorento sports sleeker exterior lines and more modern look. It successfully incorporates Kia’s up-to-date design DNA into its “stand-out” looks, while featuring a much more spacious and luxurious cabin. The 4,7 m long Kia crossover is also significantly sleeker in comparison to the previous model with an aerodynamic drag down from Cd 0,43 to 0.38.
New Sorento is available with various four-cylinder and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, but in Europe, the most popular engine choice is expected to be the all-new 2.2L diesel engine with 197 ps and 421 Nm of torque. Mated to it is a choice between a 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission.
The all-new Sorento sits on monocoque bodyshell, which improves the vehicle’s on-road handling and comfort while keeping its original off-road ability intact. Thanks to the new monocoque bodyshell, Kia’s engineers managed to reduce the weight of the new Sorento by 215 kg, which will greatly affect the vehicle’s fuel economy ratings.

А.... помоему это уже и не корейцы вовсе... или не все корейцы.... :D
это уже похож европейская студия...
ну а с хундаем похожи... да..., один (почти) дизайн - один кузов..... одна контора, что тут изобретать...
не нравится одно - бери другое, а что от одного хозяина так оно и проще для всех.... и особенно для хозяина :D
а универсализация, по моему, уже просто от безисходности, слишком много их стало похожих...

Kia Venga images released ahead of its official Frankfurt Auto Show unveiling.
Kia has released the very first official images and details about its long-awaited B-segment mini-MPV, which will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt auto event in September. In addition, Kia also announced its all-new model will feature a Venga nomenclature.
When Kia Venga goes on sale across Europe, it will be available with a choice of two 1.4L or a 1.6L gasoline and diesel engines. All four engines will be mated to manual or automatic transmissions and will generate from 75 to 115 horsepower. Every single engine in the Venga line-up will be fitted with Kia’s eco-friendly start-stop technology, called Idle Stop & Go -ISG system and will comply with strict EURO 5 emission standards that will go into effect in 2010.
Kia Venga is based on a slightly modified B-segment platform which is also used in the Soul crossover. With its overall length of 4,068mm, the 2010 Kia Venga is just a little shorter compared to the Soul, but features longer wheelbase. The 2,615mm long wheelbase is un-usually long for the B-segment vehicle and promisses to offer levels of interior space typical of a larger C-segment car.
Kia’s stylish mini-MPV will be equipped with a sliding 60/40 split rear seat that folds flat into the floor and a twin-level boot floor. Kia Venga will also be available with tilt-and-slide glass panoramic roof and other luxuries such as heated seats, navigation system, automatic climate control and a wide-angle rear view mirror reversing camera.
The all-new Kia Venga will be built in Hyundai’s European manufacturing plant and will be marketed exclusively for European market. Depending on country, the new Venga is expected to go on sale later this year or early 2010. There are no plans to put Venga mini-MPV on sale in the States.

Kia Venga EV concept car made its world premiere at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
Kia Venga EV concept car is a full-time electric vehicle based on a B-segment Venga mini-MPV, which has been on sale across Europe since January this year.
What sets the Venga EV concept vehicle from a production model is placed under the hood and that is an electric motor, which generates 80 kW of raw power and 280Nm of maximum torque. The front wheel-drive concept car also features a twin-pack 24kWh Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack placed under the boot floor, which enables the vehicle to drive 112 miles on a single charge!
Under the quick recharging cycle (50 kW) the battery can be recharged to 80 percent of its capacity within 20 minutes. Under the normal cycle (3.3 kW), 100 percent power is attained after eight hours.
The latest concept car from Kia is not a sports car, but it provides decent performance. According to Kia, the Venga EV is capable of accelerating from standstill to 62 mph in 11.8 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 87 miles per hour.

Stunning Kia POP concept car set to make its official premiere at the forthcoming 2010 Paris Auto Show!
Kia Motors Corporation today released a set of images previewing the all-new POP concept car, which is scheduled to make its official debut at the upcoming Paris Auto Show.
With the new POP concept car, Kia continues its tradition of unveiling an eye-catching and environmental friendly concept vehicles at motor shows, which are all primarily used to showcase the automaker’s design and development capabilities.
According to Kia, the all-new POP concept car is a zero-emission electric vehicle, which features electric motor and next-generation lithium polymer battery.
As evident from the released pictures, the POP concept car offers seating for three, with two seats placed at front and additional one at rear. With only 3 meters in length, the POP concept vehicle is smaller than Kia Picanto, which is currently the smallest vehicle in the automaker’s model line-up. Its about the same size as Toyota iQ, which is already on sale in Europe.
The latest Kia concept is inspired by Kia Ray electric concept car, which has been unveiled earlier this year at New York Auto Show. It features LED lightning and large panoramic roof that reveals vehicle’s purple colored interior and chromed dashboard.
Kia announced it will take the wraps of its latest Pop concept car at the 2010 Paris Auto Show on September 30. That’s when we expect to see more official shots and hear more details about the vehicle’s powertrain technologies and capabilities. Stay tuned!

The all-new 2012 Kia Picanto will be available with four super-efficient 1.0L three-cylinder and 1.2L four-cylinder Kappa engines!
After releasing first official images of its brand-new city car, Kia Motors today announced further details regarding the 2012 Picanto,
including the engine and transmission options to be offered in Europe.
Kia Picanto buyers across the globe will be able to choose from four fuel-efficient engines.
There’ll be three versions of Kia’s 1.0L three-cylinder Kappa engine and one 1.2L four-cylinder Kappa engine available.
The first three are basically the same one-litre unit running on petrol, biofuel or a mixture of the two, while the 1.2L only runs on petrol.
Kia Picanto engine outputs will range from 69 to 85 horsepower, while torque numbers will vary from 94 to 121 Nm.
In the official press release, Kia also revealed engine exhaust emissions have been significantly reduced,
so that regular models in the new Kia Picanto range will have a CO2 rating of 95 to 105 grams per kilometer.
Kia’s fuel-stretching Idle Stop & Go technology, which will also be available on some Picanto models,
will further cut the CO2 emissions and improve the car’s fuel economy.

Я видел в Ашхабаде и в Баку когда на гастролях был. Новая Соната по сравнению с Кадензой тьфу. Во всяком случае для меня.

Да, для России Magentis. Но я как-то разговаривал с ребятами из АВТОМАСТЕРа и они говорили что машины нового поколения и для России будут продаваться под названием Optima. Вот, то что я слышал. А как будет на самом деле покажет время. Да и в принципе неважно как будут называть модель для России.

У меня друг на этом повернут. "Восьмерку" режет и перекравает. Понизил крышу, расширил арки, весь кузов перекроил. Мотор впихнул шестрадцатиклапанный от "десятки", с ним наколдовал не пойми чего (инжектор с повышенным давление, форсунки большого размера и всё такое прочее). В общем, глубокий тюнинг. Под это дело он научился сварке, шпатлевке, окраске и всё такое прочее...

У меня друг на этом повернут. "Восьмерку" режет и перекравает. Понизил крышу, расширил арки, весь кузов перекроил. Мотор впихнул шестрадцатиклапанный от "десятки", с ним наколдовал не пойми чего (инжектор с повышенным давление, форсунки большого размера и всё такое прочее). В общем, глубокий тюнинг. Под это дело он научился сварке, шпатлевке, окраске и всё такое прочее...

А цены я думаю начнутся от полутора миллионов как минимум...

Пежоподобный на некоторых фото передок меня несколько смутил.
Все же правильные впечатления - это от экстерьера живого авто, хоть в салоне, хоть на улице.

Был я на прошлой неделе в Ницце. За три дня видел единственный СИД-универсал. Надо сказать, С-класс вообще на улицах встречается не особенно часто, в основном мелкие авто катаются.
Зато по ТВ активно крутили ролики про новый СИД. Вживую опять-таки не встречал. На видео смотрится неплохо, но иногда что красиво на экране в жизни - не ахти.

По дороге в Пензу и в Челябинск, 3 автовоза с новыми СИДами видел. Полностью согласен с Андреем, на Пежо 308 похож.
